inner peace: tara yoga photo shoot

when the world is going crazy and things just don't make sense, it's important to remember to take a deep, cleansing breath and find some inner peace. being able to grab hold of that silent space is so helpful for keeping you balanced and moving through the things that bog us down on a daily basis.

as we keep our thoughts and prayers with those in boston, texas and those around the world facing tragedy, i leave you with these images from a recent tAraYoga workshop to remind you to take a moment to center yourself before we kick off another week. sometimes inner peace is all we can control, so do some yoga, take a walk, hug your family members, whatever helps you regain that little piece of sanity.

namaste!

a boy and his toy: sweet deesigns blocks

last weekend, before i got sick with norovirus (ick), i got a chance to spend some time with my darling nephew, benjamin. benny-boy was kind enough to help model some of the awesome wooden blocks that his momma is selling in her new etsy store - Sweet DeeSigns! they are hands-down the cutest blocks and are absolutely perfect for little ones. they sure did keep this little 9 month old muchkin entertained while his annoying aunt stuck a camera in his face :).

as you can see, ben wanted nothing to do with modeling - he was too busy playing!
the blocks can be custom made to match a nursery, bedding set or with your child's name so they are THE gift for any expecting gal in your life!! plus, they are also non-toxic so you don't have to worry about little teethers drooling all over them. they also make awesome photo shoot props...can't wait to order my own set for my next shoot!

be sure keep an eye on victoria's latest creations posted in her store or on her facebook page.

and since the nursery is magazine worthy, i have to share a few shots of this DIY wonder world! no nursery is complete without a hand-crocheted elmo, of course!  seriously, is there anything my sister-in-law can't do!?
isn't his blueberry clown face hilarious?!

haven't had enough? a couple more are hiding here!

enjoy your week!!

grand opening: tara yoga + perch sisters!!

welcome!

i'm so excited to announce the official 'opening' of perch sisters!! woo-hoo! so excited to get this adventure off the ground! it's been a big leap of faith for me to launch this site and follow my heart to pursue photography in a more professional sense. i am very blessed to have a fantastic support team standing behind me and cheering me on. being there to capture the little moments of your life is what brings joy to my day so the time for second guessing and procrastination is over...time to launch this business and make big things happen!!

and what better way to celebrate my own launch than by sharing it with another small business opening?!  oh and with a special offer at the end of this post!

last weekend i rolled out my mat, put on my spandex and took a yoga class with tara franklin of tara yoga as part of her grand opening weekend.  sadly, it's been a while since i've been in a yoga studio, so my muscles were superbly mad at me for the rest of the weekend...BUT the class was AWESOME!! the studio was beautiful with tons of light pouring in and glistening off of the fresh paint, shiny hardwood and gold radiators. if you're looking for a new place to turn off your brain and wake up your body, pop in and take a class.  your soul will thank you later!

can't go anywhere without my camera, so here are a couple shots of the studio. i'm a sucker for bright colors...
and since i offered all of my new tara yoga friends a nice little deal, i figured i'd extend it to all of you! all you have to do is like my page on facebook (tara's too!) and the offer's yours.
